Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol AG
Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol AG
Seven billion euros balance sheet total, 11.8 per cent equity ratio, some 500 employees and
a profit from ordinary activities of almost 25 million euros. That is Raiffeisen-Landesbank
Tyrol AG in a nutshell. As the lead institution in Raiffeisen Banking Group Tyrol, the bank
services and looks after 80 Tyrolean Raiffeisen banks, as well as operating 17 branches of
its own. It is a strategic agenda setter and, despite having the legal form of an Aktienge-
sellschaft, it is wholly committed to cooperative principles. Regionalism, security and com-
munity are therefore central values for RLB Tyrol
Celebrating 125 years of Raiffeisen in Tyrol also has very special
importance for Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tyrol AG. Today’s RLB Ty-
rol AG, then named Raiffeisen-Zentralkasse, was founded just sev-
en years after Tyrol’s first Raiffeisen credit union opened its doors
in the small town of Oetz. Today, RLB Tyrol AG is over 99 per cent
owned by the Tyrolean Raiffeisen banks, and as such it adheres
strongly to the timeless principles of Raiffeisen.
Looking after the region
Unlike a major international bank, we are there for our customers
in the heart of the region. Innovative products, such as the Raiffei-
sen-Tyrol regional bond, have been specifically developed to cater
for the needs of local consumers, thus ensuring that money from
the region gets used for the region. Special companies from the
Raiffeisen union round off the range of services on offer, ensuring
we can offer comprehensive, expert advice to private and business
customers alike.
Agenda-setting role within
Raiffeisen Banking Group Tyrol
Supporting Tyrolean Raiffeisen banks is the founding mission of
RLB Tyrol AG, and as such forms a central component of its range
of services. The Raiffeisen Banking Group Tyrol’s joint strategy for
2017 forms the basis for the services offered, which can be pro-
vided either centrally or, if desired, locally. To ensure a successful
common future, RLB Tyrol AG sits on both state-level and national
boards and committees, using its role as an agenda setter to give
support and impetus for the Tyrolean Raiffeisen banks.
Important sponsor
Alongside its role as a modern provider of banking services, RLB
Tirol AG also has a long tradition of charitable work and education-
al, cultural and sports sponsorships in its marketing territory.
Examples include the Tiroler Sozialmarkt Innsbruck (a cut-price
grocery market), Caritas, the Red Cross, the Tyrolean theatre
group Tiroler Volksschauspiele Telfs, the New Orleans Festival, nu-
merous schools and sports clubs and many more besides.
The three annual exhibitions staged by the gallery RLB Kun-
stbrücke make a major contribution to the lively Innsbruck and Ty-
rolean cultural scene, while the 18,000 euro RLB Art Prize is an
additional commitment which gives young Tyrolean artists the op-
portunity to present their work to a wider public.
Satisfied employees
RLB Tyrol AG offers almost 500 employees an attractive, secure
job, a fact confirmed by our possession of the ‘audit berufundfam-
ilie’ (job and family audit) certificate, which is awarded by the Fed-
eral Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth to companies for ser-
vices to the reconciliation of working and family life. RLB Tyrol AG
was also the first bank in western Austria to be awarded the qual-
ity seal for occupational health promotion, and employees can
choose from a wide variety of courses offered in connection with
RLB Vital, our in-house health programme.
Trainee initiative
Together with the Tyrolean Raiffeisen banks, a few years ago RLB
Tyrol AG launched a major trainee initiative. Since then a total of
46 trainees have successfully completed their training with Raiffei-
sen, making the project a great success. Eight of these trainees
did their training with Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tyrol. The training
programme sets great store by quality and practical experience,
with trainees thus putting in a total of 4,800 hours in a wide variety
of different departments. Raiffeisen traineeships are offered either
with or without the school-leaving certificate (Matura), thus offer-
ing something for everyone. The career prospects we offer young
people are excellent. Although most newly qualified staff are as-
signed directly to customer service, there is also a demand for
specialists in many different fields, such as controlling, marketing
and risk management.
Career paths
RLB Tyrol AG offers individual career paths on both specialist and
management levels, and a wide range of training opportunities
form a further important component of the employee advancement
and development we offer. Alongside our in-house training cours-
es, employees can also benefit from external educational estab-
lishments such as the Raiffeisen Campus and the Management
Center Innsbruck (MCI), where courses developed specially for
Raiffeisen are offered. The content of the courses covers all bank-
ing subject areas and also includes personality-building seminars
and training courses, since the skills and dedication of all our em-
ployees make a key contribution to sustained corporate success.
