Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG
Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG
Raiffeisen Zentralbank performs the function both of a lead bank
and service institution within Raiffeisen Banking Group Austria
and of a group parent company. Throughout Europe, the Raiffei-
sen name and the gable cross logo stand for security and relia-
ble partnership.
In its domestic markets of Austria and Central to Eastern Eu-
rope, the RZB group has a well-diversified portfolio both region-
ally and in terms of customer groups. Over recent years it has
remained true to its domestic markets in Central and Eastern
Europe.
Through its 78.5 per cent holding in Raiffeisen Bank Interna-
tional AG (RBI), RBG is not only one of the leading commercial
banks in Austria but also a universal bank in central and east-
ern Europe (CEE). Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) views
Austria and CEE as its domestic market. It has been active in
CEE for over 25 years, thus giving it pioneering status in the re-
gion. Today RBI has a dense network of subsidiary banks, leas-
ing companies and numerous specialised financial services
companies in 17 CEE countries. As a universal bank, it numbers
among the top five banks in 13 of the region’s countries, and
has a particularly strong position in Russia, the Group’s largest
market.
At the end of 2012, RBI employed almost 61,000 people, who
look after some 14.2 million customers in over 3,100 bank
branches, the majority of which are in CEE countries. RBI’s bal-
ance sheet total on that date came to 136.1 billion euros (a 7.4
per cent fall as compared with the 2011 year’s end figure). The
net profit before taxes stood at over 900 million euros.
